CATHY C. HALL   (Writer-at-LargeMedium)
All About Me

And now a word about Gladys the Goose...

She's my muse.

Yeah, I know. I really wanted Johnny Depp. But, apparently, that's frowned upon in this establishment.

I'm a fairly medium-sized writer.

I  didn't start out as a writer (or medium-sized). When I was small-sized, I thought I'd be a famous Broadway star, sort of like Julie Andrews, only with a cute Southern drawl. Unfortunately, I found that a decent singing voice was required for that job. So, I tried college instead, and graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in Radio/TV Journalism.

Then I had to make a living (because I wanted to eat) so I worked in radio sales, and as a news director, commercial copywriter, and all-around female voice when needed. But I missed books, so I went to work in a university library, where I cataloged books, and spent an awful lot of time in the stacks reading the books that I was supposed to be shelving.

So then I had this brilliant idea! I would attend Mercer University for graduate classes in English/Education. That learning came in pretty handy when I worked in education, teaching
preschoolers to high school students. Here's a funny thing. There wasn't all that much difference between the two.

Eventually, I had three Junior Halls, took in a bunny, a newt, and one crazy dog, and started writing about the funny stuff in my weird and wonderful world.

And that's how
I ended up as a medium-sized writer. Which, now that I think about it, is way better than trying to remember the words to all those Broadway songs.
